What If

Thoughts fill the head and cloud up the mind

Staring at the blank Wall

thinking and imagining how life would’ve been

What if she didn’t quit those violin lessons five years ago

Would she have gone to an arts school instead

Would she have been on the road to becoming a professional violinist

What if she didn’t get bangs in the 4th grade

Would she have even length hair

And her bangs wouldn’t have bad heat damage

What if she didn’t quit playing the piano

Would she would have been proud to have a talent

Would she been able to look at piano and play many songs at the top of her head

What if she didn’t move to public school in 5th grade

She would of stayed closed minded

She wouldn’t have met her best friends that she values so much

What if she fell into peer pressure freshmen year

She would’ve disappointed her mother

She would’ve disappointed herself

I wonder what life would’ve been like if I went down a different path

I might have been a whole different person compared to who I am today

But every decision I’ve made, some regretful some embarrassing and some eventful

I wouldn’t change a single thing.

Here is the slam poem I had to write and perform for my AP Lit class, this isn't about anyone I know but I thought the idea was interesting.

Ok but what if you don't change yourself, ever because we love you so much and you're perfect just the say you are
